Insight into the successful collaboration with CooperVision

Client statement on the collaboration

“In today’s fast-paced and challenging times, our clients expect information to be presented in an engaging way, and for learning to be enjoyable. Working with Fischer, Knoblauch & Co. enabled us to take this new, playful approach. A project that has set new standards in our industry.”

Client description

CooperVision is one of the global market leaders in the contact lens industry. The company is committed to helping people around the world see better. Its portfolio offers a wide range of products for nearly all types of visual impairments and contact lens wearers – tailored to suit different lifestyles, budgets, and visual needs.

Description of the project

With the training, CooperVision aims to raise awareness of contact lenses among opticians and to provide them with all key information on contact lens fitting in an interactive and motivating way.

Challenges in the project

A central challenge was to engage learners with their very heterogeneous prior knowledge appropriately and to motivate them for daily practice. Neither beginners should be overwhelmed nor advanced learners underchallenged. To this end, various missions and challenges were developed that, on the one hand, playfully assess the current level of knowledge and, on the other hand, optionally offer learners the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in an exciting way.

Unique aspects of the project

What makes the project special is the story-based and highly interactive approach. At the beginning of the training, learners receive an invitation to join the league of experienced contact lens champions. However, before they can be successfully admitted, they must face various contact lens champions and their challenges. If learners manage to reach the end each time, they receive optional input and further materials from the respective contact lens champions. These resources can then be accessed anytime afterwards in a library to support successful contact lens fitting.

Examples from the learning offerings

At the beginning, learners receive an initial assessment through a knowledge check to gauge how familiar they already are with the topic.

The training follows a storytelling approach. Learners encounter four experts during the training and solve tasks together with them. The aim of the training is to master four challenges in order to be admitted to the league of contact lens champions.

The tasks to be solved are varied and designed in a playful way, for example as crossword puzzles, memory games, or interactive videos. After each task, technical terms and solutions can be clicked on to access additional information.

The training is designed in CooperVision’s corporate design. It includes numerous interactive elements and thus optimally supports knowledge transfer for the learners.
